Starwood Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Giles Selves as the new General Manager of the Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection? Hotel.  The newest gem in the portfolio of Luxury Collection? British native Mr. Selves has been with the Starwood family for almost two decades, where he has specialized in hotel operations as well as developing exceptional food and beverage programs and concepts that enhance the guest experience.  He comes to The Keraton direct from The St. Regis Bangkok, where he was the Hotel Manager for the pre-opening team for Thailand’s first St. Regis hotel. 
Prior to The St. Regis Bangkok, Mr. Selves was a member of the pre-opening team as Director of Operations for the award winning The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Costa Navarino Resort, a fully intergrated golf, beach and spa resort complex in Greece.

Before this position, Mr. Selves worked for five years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts divisional office for Europe, Africa and the Middle East in various positions supporting the company’s growth across the region. As Director of Restaurant and Bar Development, Mr. Selves lead the development of culinary concepts and third party operator relationships for many hotels, including  W Barcelona, W Leicester Square in London, The Grand Mauritian, W Doha, W Istanbul and The Westin Paris.  In addition, he helped to develop the culinary aspect of brand-enhancing experiences for guest touch points, such as the Westin Superfoods Breakfast and Banquet programs, Link@Sheraton, Illy coffee partnership and breakfast program for Le Meridien and wine programs for several of the brands.

Prior to this Mr. Selves held the position of Food and Beverage Manager at The Westin Turnberry Resort in Scotland having moved after launching his hospitality career in London with the Sheraton and Luxury Collection brands, serving in positions at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel and Sheraton Park Tower Hotel.
