India, Malaysia tourism boosts trade

A lift in tourism and merchandise trade has resulted in bilateral trade between India and Malaysia reaching an all-time high.

Trade between the two nations for 2011 was $12.5 billion, up 40 percent on the previous year, according to the Hindu Business Line.

Both Malaysia and India¡¯s flourishing economies, along with a noticeable increase in tourism for the two nation¡¯s aided in augmenting trade, according to Matrade.

Over the last 10 years, trade has seen average growth rate of over 15.6 percent annually.
