Mr John Girard - Regal Hotels Area General Manager (Hong Kong)

Mr. John A. Girard has recently been appointed Area General Manager (Hong Kong) and General Manager of Regal Airport Hotel Meeting and Conference Centre. As the Area General Manager (Hong Kong) of Regal Hotels International, Mr. Girard will oversee Regal’ s hotels in Hong Kong.

As Area General Manager, he will continue to drive Regal’s international business development. With a thorough understanding of operations and marketing of world class hotels, Mr. Girard aims to further strengthen the Regal Airport Hotel’s position as the best Airport Hotel in the world.

Born on the Mediterranean Island of Malta, Girard has over 45 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Regal Hotels International, he had spent 18 years with Marco Polo Hotels, during which he held the positions of General Manager of the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel; Vice President Marketing & Operations for the Group and Area Director for Marco Polo’s three Hong Kong properties. In the past three decades, he has held positions in various disciplines in hotels all over the world including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and particularly Sales & Marketing in Malta, Indonesia, Malaysia, England, Switzerland, Italy, Kuwait, Dubai, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Guyana (South America) and Australia for International chains such as Hyatt International, Holiday Inns, Beaufort International, Forte Hotels, Rank Hotels and Sino Hotels.

Mr. Girard is fluent in English, Maltese, Italian and spoken Arabic. He is a very active and is a member of the hotel industry in Hong Kong and sits on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Hotels Association, heading the Public Relations and IT committees.
