In an effort to reverse the current climate impacting the country, the Greek National Tourism Organisation (G.N.T.O) has launched a framework of initiatives.
Aimed at promoting a stronger image of Greece as an ideal tourism destination, the G.N.T.O in cooperation with representatives of the travel industry and government officials have pushed a new integrated web-based platform into the existing campaign.
G.N.T.O currently uses the internet and social media platforms successfully to promote the positive aspects of Greece as a tourist destination. The new initiative further enhances this with the development of online reputation management and brand monitoring.
Other key priorities of the initiative include the promotion and communication of competitive advantages of the Greek tourism product through social media. This will share visitors positive experiences, messages and opinions via videos, web testimonials, reviews, posts and tweets.
The focus of the initiative will display business as usual in the country, and that it¡¯s not only safe but an affordable, value for money destination.
Support from Greek Radio Television S.A, the Athens News Agency, the Hellenic Foreign Ministry and government agencies is already growing for the initiatives.
Working with local, national and international media outlets, local agencies will be assisting with efforts to track and gather news. You too can join in the support by sending your experiences as a traveller in Greece to the team at the GNTO at firstname.lastname@example.org.
