Sitting in the centre of Thailand and Singapore makes Malaysia the juicy middle for all agents and travellers to try and love, according to Tourism Malaysia Australian director Shahrin Mokhtar. Speaking at the annual Tourism Malaysia Road Show in Sydney last night, Mr Mokhtar told agents that Malaysia was not only affordable for Australians to visit but conveniently close, full of adventure and food and the number one destination for free smiles. Promoting the region and sharing updates across the country, agents were given a preview of the company¡¯s new campaign, a TV ad airing across Channel Nine and Seven through May and June. Mr Mokhtar said the one minute TV spot would help build tourism numbers into Malaysia from Australia and will also feature across Jetstar¡¯s network towards the end of June. The bureau¡¯s head also took the time to unveil new agent online training that allows consultants to complete set modules. ¡°After you finish the training program you can print out your certificate and become a Malaysia specialist,¡± Mr Mokhtar added. Last night the bureau also unveiled its brand new QR code that sends Australian travellers straight to the Tourism Malaysia website.
