Media and buyers were treated to an invigorating afternoon of impressive attractions and activities thanks to local tour operators and hosts Tourism New Zealand.

Everything from golf to bungee jumping and plenty in-between were offered to delegates of TRENZ 2012, in order for media and buyers to gain a greater insight into what’s on offer around the Southern Lakes.

Groups were given the opportunity to select from a wide variety of activities including helicopter flights over The Remarkables mountain range, sky diving packages, shot-over jets, cessna flights, skyline rides, wine tasting and much more.

I was fortunate enough to encounter thrills and spills on a Kawarau Jet, hop a chopper ride with Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters to the top of Cecil Peak, lunge down the slopes at Skyline Queenstown Luge and finally relax on the steep but calming Skyline Gondola ride to the base of the mountain.

Food and drink was provided throughout the day and we were given a breakdown of operations and a brief tour of the facilities with each of our tour operators.
