VINEXPO Asia-Pacific 2012 is set to establish a new milestone as the world¡¯s most international wines and spirits exhibition from May 29-31 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The expo is bringing together a record 1,050 exhibitors from 28 countries and 14,000 buyers from all over the world.
Such exhibitor attendance ¡°clearly asserts its position as the leading international professional exhibition in Asia¡±, said VINEXPO Chief Executive Robert Beynat. ¡°It enables the wine and spirits industry to open up new horizons.¡±
As befits the leading supplier of wines to Asia, France, which exported 8.37 million cases to China in 2010, will be amply represented by its greatest exporting brands, including R¨¦my Cointreau, Castel Fr¨¨res, Maison Louis Latour, Champagnes Louis Roederer and Billecart-Salmon, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Bernard Magrez Grands Vignobles, Hugel & Fils, Georges Duboeuf, Frapin and la Martiniquaise, as well as Maison Louis Jadot.
A 1000-square-metre French pavilion will also accommodate a host of smaller French winegrowing companies.
Attendance by Pacific producers will break all records. Nearly 50 firms from Australia and New Zealand are presenting their products over the three days of the exhibition, with hundreds of tastings from Pernod Ricard to Treasury Wine Estates and Babich Wines.
Representing Asia, Chinese producers including Dynasty Fine Wines are keen to position themselves in the major international wine markets, along with Grace Vineyard and Yantai Changyu Pioneer Wine. From Taiwan, the spirits group Holy Grail International is showcasing its whiskies.
The US will be represented by the Californian pavilions ¨C The Wine Institute of California and Napa Valley Vintners ¨C and the State of Washington, as well as through individual corporations such as Francis Ford Coppola winery and Jackson Family Wines.
Thirty wineries from South Africa include faithful exhibitors such as Cape Wine Legends and Rupert & Rothschild alongside newcomers such as Van Loveren.
South American wines and spirits, which are gaining popularity in Asia, will be offered for tasting by companies like Concha y Toro and Montes from Chile, and Familia Zuccardi, Catena Zapata and Grupo Penaflor from Argentina, while 15 producers¡¯ wines will be displayed at the Uruguayan pavilion.
Soaring trade interest from importers, retailers, buyers for super- and hypermarkets, duty free and airlines, food and beverage managers or sommeliers from 33 Asian-Pacific countries includes representatives from companies such as Aussino, Jointek, ASC Fine Wines and Summergate from China, and Suntory, Sapporo, Mercian, Nippon Liquor and Jeroboam from Japan, as well as Italthai and Bangkok Beer & Beverage from Thailand, and Grand Vin and Wine Trade Asia from Singapore.
The VINEXPO Asia-Pacific Academy consists of more than 50 events over the three days of the show, enabling visitors to develop and enhance their knowledge of the wine and spirits sector. These events either offer free access or are by invitation or accessible on presentation of a Certificated Programme Pass.
Asian wine and spirits professionals also have the opportunity to earn a VINEXPO Asia-Pacific Academy certificate by attending three master classes during the exhibition. These will be organised around three central themes - T for Tasting, M for Matching and S for Sales ¨C and will be delivered by recognised experts, who are authorities in their field.
VINEXPO Asia-Pacific 2012 returns to Hong Kong in record-breaking style, booked-out six months in advance with over a thousand exhibitors.
Exhibition space is expanded by nearly 25 per cent to 10,500 sq. m to accommodate 1050 exhibitors from 28 countries.
Attendance of wine & spirits buyers and professionals is also expected to break the record 12,617 visitors attending the last VINEXPO Asia-Pacific in 2010.
VINEXPO is the world¡¯s largest wines and spirits trade exhibition, staged annually in alternative years between Bordeaux and Hong Kong.
VINEXPO Asia-Pacific will take place on 29, 30 and 31 May 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
