Check-in and luggage allowance:

I managed to arrive at the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal two hours before departure.

As before, I had only carry-on luggage and this time used the self check-in machine at the airport but was required to verify the ticket at a document-checking desk before boarding the aircraft.

Checked-luggage was capped at 15kg.

Economy seat/cabin conditions:

The Airbus A330-300 aircraft was travelling at near-full capacity and had a seat configuration of 3-3-3.

The cabin crew was direct, friendly and helpfully guided passengers to their seats before take-off.

Customer service:

Ticking the box as being a regular AirAsia X flyer I was content with the level of service provided by the in-air staff.

When needed by passengers, the cabin crew endeavored to aid patrons and displayed confidence and courteousness.

Meal and snack service:

As a low-cost carrier, no food or drinks were provided free of charge, although there was a wide selection of snacks, drinks and hot meals available for purchase during the flight.

Entertainment:

Entertainment consoles were available for use at purchase.

On-time performance:

The flight departed on time and touched down in Sydney on schedule.
