Dragongair has announced it will resume flights between Mainland China and Guilin, Xian and Taichung to meet growing demand from the region. With more details to be released in due time, the carrier said the flights could be resume by second quarter of this year. Rearranging its network to meet with the influx of travellers leaving and visiting Mainland China, the carrier also announced it would add six more aircraft to its network, expanding its fleet from 32 to 38. Unveiled earlier this month the carrier said it will add four A320s and three A330s and will use the extra aircraft to fly between Mainland China and other regions across Asia. With 877 million additional passengers expected to fly on routes associated with China between 2010 and 2015, the airline¡¯s chief executive Patrick Yeung said the carrier would always be committed to servicing the region. ¡°Our forward-looking plans for 2012 in terms of fleet expansion, network growth and product development will put Dragonair in a good position to grasp the opportunities in Mainland China and the region and enable us to continue to offer the best quality products and services to our passengers,¡± Mr Yeung said. The carrier also expects its future operations to create up to 450 new cabin crew positions this year as well as 35 cadet pilots through the year. ¡°As we announce our expansion plans we remain cautiously optimistic about the prospects for the year. ¡°We remain committed to offering premium products and services to our passengers and will continue to explore the potential in the market.¡± |
