AirAsiaGo.com Announces 3,000 Free Hotel Rooms Giveaway

Tuesday, 21 February 2012

In conjunction with the recent AirAsia Big Sale, AirAsiaGo.com - the low cost airline's holiday arm, announced today that it will be giving away 3,000 free hotel rooms starting tomorrow, 21 February.

At the stroke of midnight, free hotel rooms will be available in over 20 destination cities on a first-come first-served basis. This is the second time the travel portal will be handing out free hotel rooms since June 2010 - when it underwent a major rebranding exercise.

According to AirAsiaGo.com General Manager, Darren Goh, the free rooms will be made available from popular hotels in cities such as Bali, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok Phuket, Krabi and Chiangmai. The booking period for the free rooms will be over four days but most of the rooms are expected to be snapped up within the first few hours of sale. The travel period for the promotion will be from 1 April 2012 until 31 Jan 2013.

"Those who are unable to get the free hotel rooms will still be able to enjoy great savings of hotels. We will also be offering free rooms with minimum night stays at great discounts. Travellers can also book tours and transfers from AirAsiaGo.com starting from just S$5 per person,” said Goh. "Travellers who have bought air tickets at fantastic low fares during last week’s AirAsia Big Sale will now be able to complete their travel arrangements with free or heavily discounted rooms."

On another development, travellers booking on AirAsiaGo.com, can now enjoy access to Expedia's comprehensive inventory of over 150,000 hotels worldwide. The enhanced offering completes AirAsiaGo's already comprehensive travel inventory and is driven by the AirAsiaExpedia partnership agreement enabling Expedia and AirAsiaGo to share content, boosting both companies' ability to better serve travellers.

"We understand that today's travellers want choices and flexibility so enhancing our hotel offerings has always been one of our major priorities. With over 140,000 hotels, Expedia offers the most comprehensive choice of accommodation available, and our customers can now access Expedia's rich hotel inventory in Europe, the USA and the Far East," said Goh.

Under the joint venture agreement, Expedia and AirAsiaGo are the exclusive third party online travel agency offering all AirAsia and AirAsiaX flights to over 75 destinations worldwide. Taken together with over 150,000 hotels worldwide, the partnership creates a unique set of holiday packages for Asian customers at incredibly low rates.
