The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Quality Tourism Services Association (QTSA) are co-organising a Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme road show in Hong Kong for the first time ever. Running for four consecutive days from today (16 February) at the second-floor lobby of Times Square, the road show will showcase a wide range of products by QTS-accredited merchants from different sectors, as well as programmes and stage events on various themes, to raise awareness of the QTS Scheme among visitors and local consumers. It is also hoped that the road show will encourage consumers to patronise the QTS merchants so as to enjoy quality products and services.

Performing the launch ceremony of the road show today were HKTB Chairman Mr James Tien (centre), Commissioner for Tourism Mr Philip Yung (third left), QTSA Chairman Mr Tommy Li (third right), QTSA Vice-Chairman Dr Simon Kwok (second right), QTS Sub-Committee Chairman The Hon Vincent Fang (second left), HKTB Executive Director Mr Anthony Lau (far left) and ambassador of the road show Ms Fala Chen (far right).

The four-day road show will feature a different theme each day, namely ¡°Glamour & Prestige¡± (jewellery and watches), ¡°Lifestyle¡± (lifestyle products and restaurants), ¡°Healthy Living¡± (health products) and ¡°Trend Setter¡± (fashion and travel). The event has gained earnest support from a considerable number of merchants accredited under the QTS Scheme and venue sponsorship from Times Square.

Inaugurated in 1999, the QTS Scheme serves to recognise merchants providing quality services and to raise service standards among the trade, thereby giving visitors greater confidence in the products and services of Hong Kong. Currently, around 7,500 merchant outlets, including shops, restaurants, visitor accommodations and hair salons, are accredited under the scheme. Visitors can locate these outlets by the QTS Scheme decal.??
