Master Chocolatier Laurent Gerbaud Joins One&Only Reethi Rah for Easter

  Renowned Belgian chocolatier Laurent Gerbaud is set to make One & Only Reethi Rah his home this Easter and bring his exquisite chocolate creations to guests with a tantalising programme of classes from 4 ¨C 7 April 2012

  In addition to Laurent Gerbaud culinary classes at One&Only Reethi Rah in The Maldives, gourmands can enjoy a choice of cuisine from three restaurants, or in the privacy of their own villa. Stunning sunset dining is highly recommended at Tapasake, an over-water restaurant serving Indian-Japanese fusion food
   

Renowned Belgian chocolatier Laurent Gerbaud is set to make One&Only Reethi Rah his home this Easter and bring his exquisite chocolate creations to guests with a tantalising programme of classes from 4 ¨C 7 April 2012.

Laurent has been marrying chocolate, fruit and spices for nearly a decade from his home in Brussels and will now be taking guests at One&Only Reethi Rah on an odyssey of chocolate with tasting and master classes.

Chocolate Tasting Class (4 April)
Guests will be guided through the varieties of ¡°crus de cacao¡± (forastero, trinitario, criollo) to understand the differences between the different origins of cocoa, and sample the classic Gerband chocolates.

Chocolate Master Class (5 & 7 April)
This coveted class will explore the secrets of tempering chocolate and techniques of praline making. Laurent will demonstrate the skills needed and guide guests to make their very own delicious creations in the show kitchen.

Chocolate Degustation Dinner (6 April)
The One&Only Reethi Rah chocolate experience will culminate with Laurent Gerbaud being joined by One&Only Reethi Rah Artist in Residence Christopher Hogan and resident musician Glenn Aitken to uncover the marriage of scent, taste, vision and tune. The dinner features delicious dishes including Pave of Candied Duck with saffron sauce and cocoa nibs and finishes with Yuzu ice cream with bitter orange peel and espelette chocolate.
