In what could be considered the least romantic getaway, Netherlands has opened its first Divorce Hotel for couples looking for a quick and easy exit from marriage.

Arranging all the appropriate legal documentation for the perfect divorce within two days, the new concept was designed by entrepreneur Jim Halfens who said he spotted a hole in the market for simple divorces, News.com reported.

"When they leave the hotel, all work is done," Mr Halfens said in an interview with Sky News.

"The only thing that happens then in Dutch law is that they have to show the agreement to a judge in the Netherlands and that takes a couple of weeks.

"They walk divorced out of this door and to make it official takes a couple of weeks."

Using high-end boutique hotels around the Netherlands to conduct the break-ups including the Carlton Ambassador Hotel in The Hague, couples are said to undergo a rigorously screening process by a divorce hotel legal team once they apply for the divorce.

If couples are on non-speaking terms or fight too much they can be deemed unsuitable for the hotel.

A sales manager from the Carlton Ambassador Hotel, Ninke Bons said those checking in for a divorce are treated with care by employees of the property.

"We treat them as any other guests, we just try to keep a closer eye on them or make sure they are not wandering around by themselves," Ms Bons explained.

"Just as an example - we would normally inquire if a guest enjoyed their stay at the hotel.

“Well, obviously that's not very appropriate in the case of the 'Divorce Hotel.'"
