Despite the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the Tokyo office remained opened throughout, doing its part in encouraging visitors to return to the country. Thanks to the hard work of the team, the outlook for 2012 looks positive with excellent MICE and FIT bookings already confirmed.

May 2011, saw Exotissimo Travel launch a new agent webinar service.  Over the course of the year, Exotissimo Travel has run 43 successfully web-based seminars. Feedback has been exceptionally positive, citing its usefulness and excellence in informing about Exotissimo¡¯s experience- based tours. Each week, a Product Manager from each destination country presents updated information, detailing new products, Exo Touches, emerging places and classic destination training.

2011 also saw the company run an applauded series of FAM trips through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Indonesia. The experience allowed agents to familiarize themselves with Exo¡¯s destinations, showcasing the company¡¯s expertise in its countries, tours as well as its work ethics, tour guides and product delivery. One participant commented ¡°Thank you for a marvelous week! It has sure left a lot of impressions and the experiences from Myanmar are just fantastic. I do believe the phrase ¡°seeing is believing¡± comes in very handy for Myanmar¡±

In November 2011, Exotissimo launched their inaugural MICE brochure. The 48 page guide details the company¡¯s meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions services along with a selection of inspirational activities offered and a case study for each country. The New Year promises busy times for Exo, as a number of advanced bookings have already been made as well as a new dedicated MICE website planned for the year.

The Exo Foundation, launched earlier in 2011, has successfully established itself as an independent charitable organization. Its aim is to preserve the region¡¯s natural and cultural beauty for generations to come. Earlier in the year, The Foundation supported the opening of a village library in Muang Shewe Lay, Myanmar and is responsible for its upkeep, overhead costs, training, utilities, cleaning and purchasing of new books.
