Like a kid in Charlie¡¯s factory, my first two hours in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore were filled with ¡®ohs¡¯ of excitement as my eyes dashed left, right and centre to absorb all the big brand names seducing me with their products. Arriving at Changi Airport after 5.00pm on a Sunday evening I was sure, that like Sydney the majority of attractions and stores would be closed for the day leaving me with an evening filled with snores and sleep. Pulling up in the transfer coach a little closer to six, I realised that while New York may be the city that never sleeps, Marina Bay Sands takes the cake for the hotel/resort that never rests. The sight of people of all ages scurrying across the three towers searching for their next activity dispelled any sense of travel exhaustion, leaving me ready to get my ¡®Marina Bay Sands on¡¯. Walking past an endless amount of restaurants and caf¨¦s, I decided my first meal in Singapore would be in the resort¡¯s food court where cultures and dining experiences from around the world joined forces to leave me scratching my head for up to half an hour before reaching a decision. From Malaysian to Japanese, Chinese and straight to Turkish food, the food court literally had food to leave everyone satisfied.
Enjoying my quick yet tasty meal, I decided it was now time to enjoy the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Although initially a little too intimidated to walk into Louis Vuitton, I eventually gained the courage to step inside and was surprised by the genuine friendliness behind the counter. Will power prevailing, I eventually walked out of the store ten minutes late empty handed and moved on to other exciting names. Equipped with one of the world¡¯s largest collections of the most coveted brands, I eventually had to tear myself away from the windows and high fashion and make my way back to room for some shut eye. Over the next three days I¡¯ll be sending you all the latest on Marina Bay Sands so stay clicked onto e-Travel Blackboard for more or check out facebook.com/etbnews for photos on-the-go.
