Days after unveiling its new name, G Adventures, the world¡¯s adventure travel leader, celebrates a record-breaking sales day. The tour operator reported a 41 per cent sales growth against 2010; and 83 per cent sales growth when compared with 2009. ¡°As we enter a new era, we¡¯re thrilled to have achieved such incredible results,¡± says Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures¡¯ founder. ¡°The feedback on our new name has been overwhelmingly positive. The travel community and industry have embraced the change.¡± And the news gets even better at a local level, with the Australia / New Zealand / Asia region now reported to be G Adventures second largest and fastest growing region for the company. "I believe the results we continue to see within this region are a testament to the amazing people who I have the great pleasure to work with every day here in Australia and New Zealand" said G Adventures Head Honcho for Australia / New Zealand, Pete Rawley. "When we started this journey a few years back, to really make a stand in this market, we knew it was going to be a competitive proposition. You only have to look at how aggressive our competitors have been - both in the public domain and behind closed doors - to know that we are in a very aggressive sector of the market". Rawley added "To see such outstanding results here in Australia and New Zealand gives the whole team a great sense of pride and satisfaction that we are delivering on the promises we made to our partners and to ourselves. We have some clear plans and objectives for the future of our business within this region and we have all the energy in the world to make sure we obtain them". ¡°These figures are a testament to our commitment to leading with service, and creating innovative, sustainable and life-changing travel experiences. We would like to thank our agents, partners and travellers for their continued support,¡± adds Poon Tip. |
