Four of the 13 gateways are being served by Lufthansa¡¯s A380, with Singapore Changi Airport being the latest addition effective 30 October this year. For the first time this allows Australian passengers to seamlessly travel A380 all the way to Germany. Currently the airline flies its flagship aircraft between Frankfurt and Tokyo, Beijing, Johannesburg, New York, San Francisco and Miami. Singapore will be serviced daily by Lufthansa¡¯s A380 connecting to the airline¡¯s main hub in Germany and offers fast connections into Lufthansa¡¯s large European, North American and African networks.
With the revamp of ten Boeing 747-400 by November 2011, travellers in Economy and Business Class can enjoy a completely refurbished cabin interior. Economy Class passengers can look forward to their own individual inseat entertainment program which is being expanded and will offer an even greater choice, particularly for music and sport fans. In First Class there will be a completely new seating concept. The existing window seat will be converted into a full-length, lie-flat bed measuring over 2 metres in length. First Class passengers will be allocated both window and aisle seat, offering a comfortable seat and a bed for the first time ever.
On intercontinental flights Lufthansa passengers will be able to indulge in culinary highlights created by Lufthansa Star Chefs. Lufthansa seeks out acclaimed master chefs from all over the world to create exclusive menus and regional specialities. Together with world champion sommelier Markus del Monego, Lufthansa offers an excellent wine menu which has been awarded several times.
