Sheraton Nha Trang serves up cocktail classes

Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa is inviting guests and the public alike to take reggae legend Bob Marley’s advice and ‘stir it up’ on Friday, July 30, when New York City-based ‘mixsultant’ Joseph Boroski hosts the first of two cocktail classes at Vietnam’s newest seaside escape.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Boroski — a regular consultant for Louis Vuitton launch parties and subject of features in the likes of Gourmet and TIME magazines — welcomes bartender wannabes to his education in elixirs with a drink at Plunge, the hotel’s sleek, poolside bar normally reserved for overnighters only.

Shortly thereafter, Boroski teaches students how to concoct some of Sheraton Nha Trang’s signature cocktails including The Sea, a compelling blend of young coconut puree, green seafood sauce(!) and other ingredients.

“It's a social gathering and cocktail training, rolled into one,” said Michiel de Kleer, the hotel’s director of food and beverage. “And like the launch last month of our cooking school — the first purpose-built cooking school in a hotel in Vietnam — the event demonstrates how we are committed to becoming synonymous with food and beverage inventiveness.”

For those unable to attend the July 30 session, Boroski pours the knowledge on again the following evening. Cost to participate is US$15++ per person. Outside guests are welcome, but class size is limited to 20 people.
