China Eastern Airlines has announced plans to launch a new route to Dubai from the south western Chinese city of Kunming, effective from February 22.
The airline told the Xinhua News Agency that it will operate the service three times a week.
The seven hour flight to Kunming will be operated by a 260-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
Only one of the three weekly flights, on Mondays, will be direct service, the Wednesday and Saturday flights will have a stopover in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, which will add an extra hour to the flight.
"The opening of the new air route will help increase the contacts between China and Dubai," an airline spokesperson said.
