Vietnam Railways Corp. will adopt Japan¡¯s bullet-train technology for a planned $56 billion link connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, CEO Nguyen Huu Bang said in an interview. The Vietnam government plans to construct the rail link in sections and will start running high-speed trains by 2020, the Nikkei newspaper reported. Funds for the project may be sought from Japan¡¯s official development assistance program, in addition to the Asia Development Bank and the World Bank, the Nikkei said.
