Malaysia Airlines Haj Charter will fly 13,000 pilgrims from Malaysia to the holy land for the 1430 Haj season. The flights to Jeddah and Madinah will start from 20 October to 20 November 2009, and the first flight will depart KL International Airport for Madinah on 20 October. The flights back to Malaysia will be from 3 until 31 December 2009. Malaysia Airlines Head of Haj and Charter Department, Captain Nik Ahmad Huzlan said, “We are delighted to work with Tabung Haji to provide 114 flights for the season. We have been providing this service since 2003 and this marks the 7th year of Malaysia Airlines Haj flights. “We are committed to provide the pilgrims with seamless travels to the holy land. In addition to baggage check-in all the way, specially selected and trained crew, we are offering the pilgrims special discounts of 25% to provide them with direct connections to the KL International Airport to and from all major cities in Malaysia - Alor Setar, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kota Bahru, Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan.” In addition to Kuala Lumpur, pilgrims can also fly directly from Johor Bahru, Penang and Kuala Terengganu to Jeddah, while non-stop flights to Madinah are also provided from Penang, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Terengganu. To provide comfortable ground and inflight services to its passengers, the airline will provide a special menu, customized inflight entertainment and transportation of “Air Zam Zam” up to 5 litres. The Haj menu is customized according to Malaysian taste, profile of the pilgrims and nutritional needs. This year, pilgrims will have a choice of roti putar with dhalcha curry, nasi lemak with chicken rendang and shrimp sambal for breakfast. For the main meals, they will enjoy an option of sweet and sour fish, chicken masak lemak, beef korma, chicken sambal, beef curry or ayam masamman. The main meals will be served with steamed rice and vegetable dishes on the side. He added , “In addition, a special refreshment pack will be given to the pilgrims at Jeddah and Madinah while they wait for their luggage and transport to Mecca. “During the flight, we will provide customized inflight entertainment such as video of Jejak Rasul, Ilmuwan Islam and Al-Kuliyyah. Quran recital and Nasyid are also available.” The flights will be operated on B747-400 aircraft, each with 355 seats fitted with individual inflight entertainment. |
