China¡¯s Chongqing Airlines takes delivery of the first of three A319s

China¡¯s Chongqing Airlines takes delivery of its first Airbus A319. It is the first of three A319s which are leased from ILFC.

The aircraft can accommodate 122 passengers in a two-class configuration with 8 first class seats. Chain¡¯s Chongqing Airline, located in Chongqing, currently operates four A320s. The company plans to operate three new A319s, which will be leased from March to May 2009, on the route to some popular tourist places in the Southwest region in China.

Liu Qing, Vice President of Chongqing Airlines, said: ¡°We are excited to introduce this world¡¯s best selling single-aisle aircraft to build our Airlines. Featuring high efficiency and low operational costs, the A319s can strengthen our competitiveness and profitability.¡±

The A320 Family includes the A318, A319, A320 and A321. As the world¡¯s best-selling commercial jetliner, 6,300 aircraft have been sold and 3,700 have been delivered to operators worldwide.
