Set Sail to Hainan and Vietnam ¡®Italian Style¡¯ with Spring Discounts of up to 30 per cent

Friday, 7 March 2008

Costa Cruises, Europe’s leading cruise company, is offering all-time low fares on its popular Hainan Island and Vietnam cruising routes this spring, with discounts of up to 30 per cent.

Passengers can celebrate an early Mother’s Day, or simply luxuriate in the glorious season of spring as they cruise to some of Asia’s most sought-after tropical destinations.

The first ship to sail, the Costa Allegra, departs Hong Kong on April 26 and May 1, taking its sea-faring guests to Vietnam on a six-day, five-night journey, stopping in the historic port of Da Nang and scenic World Heritage site Halong Bay, also known as ‘Guilin-on-Sea’ and regarded by locals as the eighth wonder of the world.

For the April 26 departure, an early bird discount rate starts at HK$3,666 for bookings made before March 26.

The May 1 departure falls in high season, so a special promotional discount of up to almost 30 per cent off the regular high season rate is on offer to all passengers.

An alternative option for a getaway in true Italian style is a five-day, four-night cruise to China’s Hainan Island and Vietnam, also on the Costa Allegra, often referred to as the Crystal Cruiser for her state-of-the-art crystal like ship body.

Departing May 6, guests will cruise to the beautiful port of Sanya on Hainan Island, where they will be greeted with the purest air and softest sand: the area commonly known as the ‘Hawaii of the Orient’.

Bookings for this journey made before April 6 also receive an early bird discount, fares starting from HK$2,106.

For both packages families can enjoy even greater price benefits, with children under 18 years old sharing a cabin with two adults berthing for free, paying only a nominal port charge.

To further enhance their trip, passengers can become VIP guests by booking a VIP seaview cabin, a mini-suite with a balcony or a grand suite. VIP guests will receive more exclusive privileges including an invitation to the Captain’s cocktail party, 50 per cent off at Amalfi Restaurant, 25 per cent off their bar tabs and a 30 per cent discount on treatments at the ship’s spa centre.

The recently refurbished Costa Allegra is a family friendly ship with a host of facilities to suit all ages and tastes.

While adults can enjoy a variety of leisure activities from world class beauty treatments to a Technogym® equipped gym, children aged 3 to 11 can join in the fun of the special ‘Squok Club’ areas and children’s pool under the supervision of qualified staff.

The journey sets sail with a welcoming party where guests can mingle and meet new friends, and is a taste of the non-stop entertainment available on board from morning until night.

Guests can enjoy a magnificent cabaret and live music performances in the Italian musical show ‘Lipstick & Lace’ and the nostalgic ‘Revival Rhythms disco fever’, or display their own talent on the disco dance floor where a DJ and live band play the hottest hits at themed parties such as ‘Pirate Disco’ and ‘Let’s dance Together: CHA CHA’.

Passengers can also grasp the opportunity to learn about the world renowned Italian cooking from our chef, who will demonstrate the authentic way to make Italian pizzas and tiramisu. To further enhance the Italian flavour of your journey, our Cruise Director will contact classes to teach our passengers the beauty of Italian language.

With three restaurants, Italian, international and Asian, five bars, swimming pool, three jacuzzis, theater, casino, disco and shopping centre featuring the best-known Italian designer labels, passengers will be spoilt for choice.
